Online Dating Profile

So you've decided to try an online dating profile. What kinds of information do you include on it? What's the worst thing to put on an online dating profile? And how do you make your profile stand out from hundreds- even thousands- of other profiles? The key is to be honest, friendly, but not too open or TOO friendly.

In today's fast-paced world, using an online dating profile to attract potential mates has become the latest trend in dating. But to ensure that you're meeting the right people and not merely "hooking up," there are a few things you need to consider.

Use a recent photograph of yourself on your online dating profile. No one wants to see how you looked in middle school or high school, they're wanting to know what you currently look like. But make sure to always include a photo on your online dating profile, you're far more likely to get responses to your profile when you include an attractive, smiling picture of yourself on it.

Don't go for stereotypical. Even if you are completely into "long walks on the beach," "cuddling on Saturday mornings," etc- don't put anything but stereotypical "fluff" into your online dating profile. Most people want to know what REALLY makes you "tick," not what 99% of the rest of the population also enjoys doing. If you collect stamps, beer steins, enjoy sky-diving or scuba-diving, by all means include that. Just don't make that the entire basis of your online dating profile.

Now that you know what to put in your online dating profile, there's just one more thing to remember to NOT include. Do not publicly post your phone number, address, email address, place of work, or anything else that would enable someone you don't want to contact you offline. An online dating profile is simply as safe as you make it.
